LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell's Andrew Yehl (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) broke his own school record in the 60-meter hurdles on Friday night. About two hours later, the track and field star broke it again. Yehl's efforts earned him Damon's Bison Athlete of the Week recognition.
Yehl, a junior, placed first, in his preliminary heat, at the Sykes-Sabock Cup Challenge, at Penn State, running the race in 8.20 seconds. In the final, he placed third overall with another school record of 8.16, earning him a birth at the IC4a Championships in Boston.
The next day, Yehl improved his season-best 200 time to 23.13, placing 25th against top-tier competition.
The Bison will be back on the track on Saturday, Feb. 14, when they host the Bucknell Winter Classic at Gerhard Fieldhouse.
