Bucknell Wrestling Heads to Las Vegas to Compete in This Weekend's Cliff Keen Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Nine Bucknell wrestlers will compete in the Cliff Keen Invitational this weekend in Las Vegas, Nev. The Bison will be one of 46 teams represented at the competitive two-day event that will feature nearly half of the latest top 25 teams.
Bucknell (3-3, 2-0 EIWA) will have four ranked wrestlers in the field with No. 20 David Marble (133 pounds), No. 8 Kevin LeValley (149), No. 6 Andy Rendos (165) and No. 16 Shane Riccio (174) comprising almost half of the Bison contingent. Additionally, Derrik Russell (125), Zac Hancock (141), Brantley Hooks (157), Rob Waltko (184) and Jay Hahn (197) will represent Bucknell.
This is the second consecutive year the Bison have competed at the Cliff Keen Invitational. Marble, Rendos, LeValley, Riccio and Hahn will each be making his second appearance in the tournament. Marble, Rendos and Riccio each placed in the top eight of his respective weight class last year as Bucknell finished 21st of 44 teams in the final standings.
Competition at the Cliff Keen Invitational begins Friday at 12 p.m. (Eastern) with the pigtail round. One hour later, round one, round two and the pigtail consolations get underway. Friday's night session begins at 10 p.m. with the quarterfinals and first two consolation rounds. Saturday's action begins at noon with the championship bouts slated for 6 p.m.
The Cliff Keen Invitational is the second of three tournaments the Bison will wrestle in this year. They competed at the Navy Classic two weekends ago and finished third in the nine-team field. Bucknell will also wrestle at the Midlands Championships in Evanston, Ill., later this month.
Following the Cliff Keen Invitational, Bucknell will be idle until Dec. 18 when it hosts Drexel and Princeton inside Davis Gym. That competition is slated to begin at 11 a.m.
