
Bucknell Men's Tennis Falls, 7-0, To Brown Friday Night

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Bucknell men's tennis team opened a weekend on the road with a 7-0 loss against Brown, Friday night. The Bison move to 2-3 on the season while the Bears are now 5-4 in 2008.
Senior Ira Reibeisen (Armonk, N.Y./Rye Country Day-Upper School) and junior Ryan Sandburg (Orange, Calif./Canyon) picked up the lone win of the evening for the Bison at No. 1 doubles. They defeated Saurabh Kohli and Jonathan Pearman of Brown, 8-7 and 7-5 in the tie breaker. At No. 2 doubles, junior Jonathan Brenner (Manhasset, N.Y./Chaminade) and freshman Anton Kovic (Montreal, Quebec/Milton Academy (Mass.)) were defeated by Sam Garland and Noah Gardner, 8-3, while freshman Mark Malloy (Bronxville, N.Y./Hackley School) and senior Ben Young (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) fell to Kendrick Au and Cody Simmons, 8-4, at the No. 3 position.
In singles play, Reibeisen dropped his match 6-4, 6-2, to Chris Lee of Brown at the No. 1 position, while Sandburg fell, 6-4, 6-2, to Pearlman at No. 2. Sophomore Zach Hascoe (Greenwich, Conn./Brunswick) played at the No. 3 position, falling to Kohli, 7-5, 6-0, and Brenner was defeated by Basu Ratnam, 6-0, 6-3, at No. 4. Rounding out singles play, Garland went 6-4, 6-2 over Kovic at No. 5 and Malloy was defeated by Charlie Posner, 6-3, 6-2, at the No. 6 position.
The Bison will return to action on Saturday with a match at 3 p.m., against Boston University in Providence, R.I.
