BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Jeff Pike (Rye, N.Y./Rye) shot a 2-over-par 74 on Sunday to help the Bucknell men's golf team to a 304 team score and a sixth-place finish at the Lehigh Kelly Gutshall Invitational at Saucon Valley CC.
Saturday's first round was cut short due to awful weather conditions, and opening-round scores across the field were elevated. The Bison opened with a 334 as none of their five players managed better than an 82. But in the second round the team counted four scores in the 70s, including Pike's 74, a 75 from Brian Bartow (Rye, N.Y./Rye Neck), a 76 from Andrew Cohen (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) and a 79 from Ryan Schneiter (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest).
Cohen and Bartow both totaled 158 and tied for 15th place individually.
Penn State ran away with the team title, posting rounds of 299-293 to best runner-up Siena by 32 strokes. Harvard placed third, followed by Delaware, Birmingham Southern, Bucknell, Lehigh and Colgate.
Kevin Foley and T.J. Howe of Penn State finished 1-2 in the individual standings.
Bucknell's fall season is now complete.
