Bucknell Men's Golf Takes Third at ECAC Championship

RIVERHEAD, N.Y. -- The Bucknell men's golf team compiled five final-round scores between 73 and 78 en route to a third-place finish at the ECAC Championship, which wrapped up Saturday at Long Island National GC.
Ryan Schneiter (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) shot a 2-over-par 73 to help the Bison post a 298 team total on Saturday. Combined with Friday's rounds of 303 and 295, Bucknell recorded a 54-hole total of 896. That was just four shots behind team champion Yale and three back of runner-up Columbia. Sacred Heart, which led the 15-team field with a final-round 289, placed fourth at 901 total.
Andrew Cohen (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) and Brian Bartow (Rye, N.Y./Rye Neck) both finished in the top 10 in the individual standings. Cohen entered the final round tied for the individual lead with Yale's Tom McCarthy, and he finished tied for fourth after shooting 75 on Saturday. Ben Wescoe of Yale finished with a 1-under 70 to finish at 217, two shots better than Sacred Heart's Pat Fillian and Matt Belizze and three better than Cohen, McCarthy and Columbia's Austin Quinten.
Bartow tied for ninth place with rounds of 77-72-74. Brian Poe shot his third consecutive 76 to finish in a tie for 19th place.
Schneiter's 73 followed Friday rounds of 80 and 78. Jeff Pike (Rye, N.Y./Rye Neck) closed with a 78 after posting 75-77 a day earlier.
Bucknell has one more fall tournament, that coming in two weeks at the Lehigh Invitational at Saucon Valley CC.
