Bucknell Places 244 Student-Athletes on University's 2007 Spring Semester Dean's List and 245 on Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Two-hundred forty-four Bucknell University student-athletes have earned Dean's List honors for the 2007 spring semester. Students must earn at least a 3.50 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for selection to the Dean's List.
Included among the student-athletes on the Dean's List last semester were 34 team captains and 26 student-athletes earning perfect 4.0 averages.
In addition, 245 winter and spring sport student-athletes were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll this past semester. To earn Honor Roll recognition, a student-athlete must earn a varsity letter and achieve a grade-point average of 3.20 or better during the semester of competition.
Captains named to the Dean's List included: Kat Allen (women's track & field), Matt Bonelli (men's track and field), Lauren Bricker (women's track and field), Melanie Buczko (women's track and field), Mandy Bynum (women's water polo), Callista Costopoulos (field hockey), Matt Crandell (Men's Swimming and Diving), Shannon Curd (women's soccer), Matt Curry (baseball), Lauren Deitrich (women's lacrosse), Laura Goeller (women's swimming and diving), Monica Grinage (softball), Amanda Grossmann (volleyball), Ran Gryskevicz (baseball), Meredith Henry (women's rowing), Lindsey Hollobaugh (women's basketball), Joshua Kaehler (men's track and field), Lauren Kremer (women's lacrosse), Chris McNaughton (men's basketball), Nathan Mittag (baseball), Katherine Munson (women's swimming and diving), Stefan Niemczyk (football), Lauren Olsen (women's rowing), Laura Roberts (women's rowing), Teri Schlang (women's golf), Susan Shadle (women's rowing), Mallory Sullivan (women's water polo), Kristen Sydlowski (volleyball), Catherine Trentacoste (women's track and field), Katie Urosevich (field hockey), Charlie Waddell (men's golf), Shauna Weinstein (women's lacrosse) and Nikki Woodward (women's swimming and diving).
Twenty-six of Bucknell's varsity sport programs achieved a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher for the 2007 spring semester. The men's golf team led all men's sports with a 3.42 semester GPA, while the women's golf squad posted the highest GPA of all of BU's sports with a 3.59 team average.
Bucknell (enrollment 3,350) competes in NCAA Division I (Division I-AA for football) as a member of the Patriot League.
