LEWISBURG, Pa. - Senior outside hitter Jenna Henderson (Elk Grove, Calif./Laguna Creek) was named to the 2007 All-Patriot League Volleyball First Team, it was announced on Wednesday. Henderson, who served as a co-captain for the Bison this season, earns her second all-league honor of her career after being named to the first team as a junior in 2006.
Henderson spent the 2007 season etching her name in the Bucknell record book as she will graduate with the program marks for career (1,403) and single season kills (432). Against Navy on Nov. 3, she surpassed 1998 graduate Melissa Wharton's career total of 1,377 kills. A week later when the Bison were in action at Army, Henderson broke Wharton's single season record of 421, which had stood since 1996.
Henderson, who tallied her 1,000th career kill in game three of Bucknell's match at Air Force on Sept. 25 and later logged her 1,000th dig on Nov. 10, joins 2004 graduate Brandi Trapasso as the only two players in school history to total 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in their careers.
This season, Henderson led the Orange and Blue with an average of 4.41 kills per game, to rank third in the Patriot League. She also contributed an average of 2.83 digs per game, 23 service aces and 26 blocks.
The Bison finished the 2007 campaign with a record of 12-17, 5-9 in league play.
