LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell wrestling's home meet against Wagner, which had been cancelled on Jan. 27, is now back on the schedule for the Orange and Blue as the team will play host to the Seahawks on Sunday, Feb. 11, in Davis Gym beginning at 1 p.m.
The Bison, who currently hold a record of 9-8 overall, 2-2 in the EIWA, were idle this past weekend, but will return to the mat on Friday, Feb. 2, for a 7 p.m. home meet with James Madison.
In the latest EIWA poll, Bucknell was tied for eighth as a team with Harvard and had four of its wrestlers earn spots in the individual rankings. Andy Rendos Brockway, Pa./Brockway), who is 18th nationally at 165 in the most recent InterMat/NWCA/NWMA Division I Individual Rankings, is fifth in the EIWA. With an overall record of 24-3, Rendos is tied for the fourth-highest wins total in the conference. In dual meets, Rendos holds a record of 15-2, one victory away from matching the Orange and Blue's single season duals wins mark. He has eight pins to his credit with seven wins for bonus points, as well.
Eric Lapotsky (Mount Carmel, Pa./Mount Carmel Area), Brantley Hooks (Spartanburg, S.C./James F. Byrnes) and Greg Hart (Bedminster, N.J./Bernards) are all currently sixth in their respective weight classes in the EIWA rankings. Lapotsky, who wrestles at 197 for the Bison, leads the EIWA in falls with 15 and holds an overall record of 20-4 (14-2 duals). He is currently tied for fourth in Bucknell history for pins in a season. Hart has a record of 11-11 overall at 125, while the 157-pounder Hooks is 15-9 on the year.
In addition to their two remaining home meets, the Bison will travel to No. 22 Navy on Feb. 10, and will wrestle at Harvard with No. 24 Columbia on Feb. 17.
