Bucknell Student-Athletes Abound on University's 2006 Spring Semester Dean's List and Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Two-hundred thirty-nine Bucknell University student-athletes have earned Dean's List honors for the 2006 spring semester. Students must earn at least a 3.50 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for selection to the Dean's List.
Included among the student-athletes on the Dean's List last semester were 29 team captains and 16 student-athletes earning perfect 4.0 averages.
In addition, 215 winter and spring sport student-athletes were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll this past semester. To earn Honor Roll recognition, a student-athlete must earn a varsity letter and achieve a grade-point average of 3.20 or better during the semester of competition.
Captains named to the Dean's List included: Kat Allen (women's track and field), Chelsea Anderson (volleyball), Todd Bauer (men's swimming and diving), Kevin Bettencourt (men's basketball), Matt Bonelli (men's track and field), Lauren Bricker (women's cross country), Kevin Brown (men's cross country/track and field), Melanie Buczko (women's track and field), Matt Corbetta (men's track and field), Ryan Delaney (men's cross country/track and field), Kris Devore (softball), Adam Edwards (men's soccer), Matt Forys (men's cross country/track and field), Dan Frake (men's track and field), Adam Freeman (men's swimming and diving), Lindsey Hollobaugh (women's basketball), Jennifer James (softball), Liz Jordan (Field Hockey), Mary Krakowski (women's swimming and diving), Lauren Kremer (women's lacrosse), Mark Kretzer (men's swimming and diving), Chelsea Mills (women's tennis), Amanda Nogic (women's water polo), Kelly O'Brien (field hockey), Jennifer O'Connor (women's cross country), Ben Pellicani (men's golf), Lauren Reed (women's swimming and diving), Stephen Watts (football), Lauren Wible (softball).
Twenty-four of Bucknell's varsity sport programs achieved a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher for the 2006 spring semester. The women's soccer team led all women's sports with a 3.43 semester GPA, while the men's cross country team posted the highest GPA of all of BU's sports with a 3.44 team average.
Bucknell (enrollment 3,400) competes in NCAA Division I (Division I-AA for football) as a member of the Patriot League.
