In a 3-1 weekend for the Bison against Cornell, Buursma led all Bucknell hitters with a .615 batting average, going 8-for-13 at the plate over four games, with two doubles, a triple and a home run for a 1.154 slugging percentage. Buursma hit safely in all four games last weekend and contributed four runs scored and seven RBI, including all three RBI in Bucknell's 3-1 win. In the Bison's 9-6 victory over the Big Red, Buursma was just a triple shy of hitting for the cycle while also pitching two innings of relief.
Mittag earned the victory in the 3-1 decision for the Orange and Blue on Sunday, picking up his first win of the season. He pitched all seven innings in the contest an allowed just one unearned run on two hits while recording seven strikeouts and walking only one batter.
Bucknell is currently 3-4 on the season and will return to action on Sunday, March 12, when the team begins its trip to Fresno, Calif., with a contest against Fresno State at 4 p.m. EST.
