Grap Named Lewisburg Hotel Bison Athlete of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Junior Marjorie Grap (Van Etten, N.Y./Spencer-Van Etten), of Bucknell's women's indoor track and field team, received the Lewisburg Hotel's Bison Athlete of the Week honor on Monday morning for her performance at the Gulden Relays, held on Saturday, Jan. 7, in Gerhard Fieldhouse, in Lewisburg, Pa.
Grap won both the weight throw, with a heave of 57-10 1/2, and the shot put, with a toss of 42-5 1/4, and was honored with the Female Field Events Athlete of the Meet award, for the second consecutive year.
Earlier this season, Grap shattered her own school weight throw record of 57-6 1/4, with a new mark of 58-9 1/4. The record-breaking throw qualified her for a place at the ECAC Championships, which will be held at the end of the 2006 season.
The Bison track and field teams will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Black Squirrel Invitational in Kent, Ohio.
