Bucknell Women's Golf Cards Solid 328 in First Round at William & Mary

JAMES CITY, Va. - Bucknell's women's golf team posted four scores of 84 or better, led by Teri Schlang's 80, and the Bison shot a solid 328 in the opening round of the William & Mary Invitational at soggy Ford's Colony Country Club on Saturday.
The Bison stand in ninth place among 16 teams heading into Sunday's final round. Rollins College shot 299 on Saturday and has a nine-shot lead on second-place Methodist. Bucknell is just six strokes out of a three-way tie for fifth place and seven behind fourth-place Elon.
Backing up Schlang's 80 were a pair of 82s from Kristen Phalen and Kathryn Batchelor and an 84 from Amy Loughney. Jaime Hays also played for the Bison and had a back-nine 41 en route to an 86.
Mariana DeBiase of Rollins shot an even-par 72 to take the individual lead by one stroke over Longwood's Stephanie Hicks. Schlang is tied for 22nd.
