Lindsey Hollobaugh Named to All-Patriot League Second Team

LEWISBURG, Pa. - One year after earning Patriot League Rookie of the Year honors, Bucknell sophomore guard Lindsey Hollobaugh was named to the All-Patriot League Second Team Tuesday. Additionally, Kesha Champion and Hope Foster earned spots on the league's all-rookie squad.
The results of the All-Patriot League voting, conducted by the league's head coaches, were announced by the league office on Tuesday. Bucknell's three honorees tied for second most in the league.
Hollobaugh, a member of the preseason All-Patriot League team, enters the Patriot League Tournament tied with Lehigh's Sara Ellis for third in the conference in scoring at 14.6 points per game. The 2004 Patriot League Rookie of the Year also ranks second in the league in free throw shooting (.817) as well as 12th in both field goal percentage and steals.
Hollobaugh has reached double figures in points 23 times this season and 49 times in her career. She reached the 20-point plateau three times this season, including a season-high 27 against Fairleigh Dickinson on Jan. 17. A durable player, Hollobaugh has averaged 36.9 minutes per game this season and has been on the court all 40 minutes 11 times.
Along with her scoring prowess, the Loganton, Pa., native completed the regular season second on the team in rebounding from her guard position with 5.1 per game. Hollobaugh also ranks second on the team with 69 assists.
Hollobaugh is the 13th Bison in the 15-year history of the Patriot League to be selected second team all-league.
Champion and Foster became the 10th and 11th Bucknell players selected to the rookie team based on their performances during their freshmen seasons.
Champion is one of two players to start every game this season for Bucknell, along with Hollobaugh. In 24.3 minutes per game she is averaging 6.7 points and 3.3 rebounds per contest. Both figures rank fifth on the squad. The Chesapeake, Va., native has tallied double figures eight times this year, including a season-high 13 points on two occasions. Champion ended the regular season averaging 9.3 points per game over her last four outings.

Over the last two games the 5-7 guard has grabbed 13 rebounds, including a total of 10 on the offensive end. During a 72-71 win over first-place Holy Cross Feb. 23 Champion hauled in a career-high five offensive caroms. She equaled that figure three days later against Colgate.
Foster's name is already showing up in the Bucknell record books thanks to her defensive performance during her rookie campaign. The Washington, D.C., native has 68 blocks this season to break Desire Almind's year-old single-season Bucknell record of 62. Foster's block total also places her seventh on Bucknell's career list after just 27 games. She is more than halfway to Marie Kocornik's team record of 132 that has stood since 1988.
Foster, who is third on the team in scoring at 7.0 points per game, is the first player in Bison history to tally at least six blocks in a game on two different occasions. She has blocked at least three shots in a game 11 times this season and leads the Patriot League with 2.5 blocks per game. In the final regular season contest at Colgate, Foster tied the Cotterell Court record with five blocks against the Raiders.

Hollobaugh was one of four guards on the second team, while two forwards were selected. Army's Cara Enright and Shavonne Holden, along with Lehigh's Sara Ellis and Mary Frances Hynoski, and Navy's Nikki Curtis joined Hollobaugh on the second team.
The first team featured a pair of Holy Cross players in Lisa Andrews and Maggie Fontana. That duo was joined by American's Joanna Barnes, Colgate's Emily Braseth, and Lehigh's Jessica DePalo.
With Champion and Foster, Bucknell equaled Holy Cross with two selections to the all-rookie team. The Crusaders had Laura Aloisi and Ashley McLaughlin honored, while Enright and Lafayette's Vanessa Van De Venter rounded out the squad.
DePalo headlined the list of award winners by earning Player of the Year honors for the first time. Colgate's Megan Ballard was named Defensive Player of the Year, while Enright copped Rookie of the Year plaudits. Lehigh's Sue Troyan was named Coach of the Year for guiding Lehigh to a 10-4 record and second-place showing in league play.
Bucknell will face Lehigh in Bethlehem, Pa., Thursday night, March 3, at 8 p.m. in the quarterfinals of the Patriot League Tournament. The Bison, the seventh seed, enter the postseason having won three of their final five regular season games.
