Student-Athlete welfare is the No. 1 priority of the Bucknell Department of Athletics & Recreation. The scholar-athlete ideal is the guiding principle of the University's participation in Division I athletics, and the University's goal is for student-athletes to receive a high-quality, successful experience both in the classroom and on the playing fields. As such, a number of programs and services are available to help Bison student-athletes achieve that success.

Academic Enhancement
Bucknell University's Academic Enhancement Program was developed, through a grant from the NCAA, to aid student-athletes in their academic endeavors. Since being a collegiate athlete requires such a large commitment of time and energy, some first-year student-athletes find that they are falling behind in their schoolwork. At Bucknell, the classroom is always the first priority. We can ease your transition from high school to college classes and Division I athletics by identifying potential problem areas, monitoring class work, making you aware of difficulties you may face and showing you some effective time management techniques so you can be prepared to experience success in the classroom. We hope that after two active semesters involved with our program, you will know where to find academic support when you need it.
