LEWISBURG, Pa. - In a partnership that will once again make Internet broadcasts of Bison athletics events free of charge to listeners, Bucknell will team with SportsJuice.com for all of its webcasts during the 2004-05 season.
Fans wishing to connect to Bison Sports Network broadcasts via the Internet need only follow the audio links off the official web site of Bucknell Athletics - www.BucknellBison.com - or log on directly to www.SportsJuice.com. Every Bucknell football, men's basketball and women's basketball game will be available live on SportsJuice.com, as will select events from other Bison sports.
In addition, the weekly "Bison Live!" radio program will also be available on SportsJuice.com. The show originates in front of a live audience every Monday night from 7-8 p.m. at the Lewisburg Hotel. "Bison Live!" features interviews with coaches, student-athletes and other special guests, including a regular segment with head football coach Tim Landis throughout the fall.
"We are extremely excited to be affiliating with SportsJuice.com," said Doug Birdsong, Bucknell's coordinator of radio, television, marketing and promotions, as well as lead play-by-play voice of the Bison Sports Network. "In assessing feedback from our most loyal fans, it was clear that they desired the ability to listen to the games on the web without going through a subscription process. This agreement not only makes that a reality, but also provides a clear and reliable source for Bucknell Athletics webcasts."
According to its web site, SportsJuice.com webcasts live and archived sports events, as well as interesting sports features to go along with them. SportsJuice.com is the single largest source of professional, minor league and amateur sports broadcasts on the Internet, with over 40,000 scheduled games a year. The company has been webcasting minor league, semi-professional, amateur, collegiate and scholastic sports since 1999, and are one of the largest providers of sports webcasting services in the industry.
The first Bucknell sporting event to air on SportsJuice.com will be the football season opener on Thursday, Sept. 2 at Villanova. Air time is 6:30 p.m. for the pregame show, with kickoff slated for 7 p.m.
