PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Bison contingent continued its participation in the Penn Relays on Friday with a 4x400 relay team on the men's side as well as a shuttle hurdles relay team for the women and one contestant in the triple jump.
The Bison women's shuttle hurdles relay team of Jamie Lilien, Catherine Trentacoste, Kat Allen and Nina Reinhardt finished ninth in the College Women Shuttle Hurdle Championship of America, completing the race in 1:02.55. Ann Doty was the only individual competitor for the Bison, finishing 10th in the eastern college triple jump competition with a leap of 37'7 ?". There was also a non-regional collegiate triple jump competition.
A correction was made to Melanie Buczko's school record-setting pole vault from Thursday, moving it four inches lower to 12'3 ?", still a school record. The previous mark was an error on the publicized results list.
The only men's entry was the 4x400 relay team of Ryan Newberger, Chris Edwards, Matthew Bonelli and Justin Crane, which finished eighth in the College Men's Wetzler/Pennsylvania section in 3:23.97. The Bison men competed against 10 other schools from Pennsylvania and Delaware.
The Bison will open their participation tomorrow in the College of New Jersey Invitational, which began today with a hammer throwing competition not featuring any Bison entrants. Saturday will be the final day of competition for both the Penn Relays and the TCNJ meet.
