LEWISBURG, Pa. - After two solid performances in Patriot League victories over Lehigh and Lafayette over the weekend, Bucknell freshman outside hitter Jenna Henderson (Elk Grove, Calif./Laguna Creek) has been named the Baden Patriot League Rookie of the Week.
Henderson, who has earned rookie of the week honors three times this season, enjoyed one of her best outings of the season in a 3-0 sweep of Lehigh on Friday. She totaled 13 kills with only one error and hit .545 for the match. Henderson also logged five digs and a pair of service aces.
One night later, in a tense five-game victory over Lafayette, Henderson belted another 13 kills, along with five digs, two blocks and an ace.
For the season, Henderson leads all Patriot League newcomers in kills with 201 (2.54 per game). She ranks second on the team in kills and digs and third in hitting percentage (.225).
The Bison are currently 13-9 overall and 7-3 in the Patriot League. They sit in third place in the PL, just a game behind second-place Army. Bucknell has a difficult road trip this weekend, with games at American on Friday at 7 p.m., and at Navy on Saturday at 7 p.m.
