THIS EVENING'S GAME: This evening's game pairs 5-6 Bucknell with 4-5 Fairleigh Dickinson. The Bison are in a two-game skid right now after winning a season-high four games in a row to close out 2003.
The Knights dropped their most recent contest for their first home loss of the season. Fairleigh Dickinson opened the season 3-1, but have since dropped four of the last five.
THE SERIES: BU and FDU have met one other time in the history of the series. The two squads faced each other during the 1987-88 season in the La Salle Invitational. The Orange and Blue defeated the Knights in a close one, 73-71, on December 29, 1987.
COMMON OPPONENTS: Bucknell and Fairleigh Dickinson have faced one common opponent this season with the same result. FDU defeated Albany, 66-59, on November 30. The Bison hosted the Great Danes on December 21, winning 62-45.
FDU recently faced Patriot League member Lehigh in its last game, falling to the Mountain Hawks, 65-58.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE: Tonight's contest begins a four-game road trip for the Orange and Blue. The Bison will not return home until January 17, when they host Navy for the first home Patriot League contest of 2004.
BU's current road trip will take them to two different states and the District of Columbia. BU faces Fairleigh Dickinson in Teaneck, N.J., on Monday, January 5, before playing Iona in New Rochelle, N.Y., on Tuesday, January 6.
Bucknell then opens conference play at American on January 10, before ending the trip with a game at Lehigh on January 14.
