Bucknell Volleyball Tops Saint Francis for First Win of Season

LORETTO, Pa. - Jackie Leahy recorded 11 kills to lead Bucknell to a 3-0 victory over Saint Francis (Pa.) Saturday afternoon at the Stokes Center. The Bison (1-4) notched their first victory of the season, while the Red Flash fell to 3-2.
Bucknell won by scores of 30-25, 30-23, 30-25. After posting a negative hitting percentage in the opening game, the Bison were solid in games two and three, hitting .212 and .205 respectively. Bucknell hit .117 for the match, while Saint Francis hit .063.
Jessica Bissett had eight kills, three blocks and hit .429 for the Bison, while Brandi Trapasso added five kills. Brandi and Breean Trapasso led all players with 10 digs apiece, while Breean dished out 26 assists.
Leahy's 11 kills led all players in the match. She has been Bucknell's top offensive producer in all five matches this season.
Kimberly Duke had eight kills and hit .727 to lead the Red Flash.
The Bison return to action on Wednesday at Loyola (Md.), before hosting the Bison Invitational next Friday and Saturday.
