Nicole Kallis Named Female Athlete of the Month for Women's Lacrosse

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell senior Nicole Kallis (Annapolis, Md./St. Mary's) has received the March Athlete of the Month Award for women's lacrosse from local co-sponsors K.I.C.K.S. Marshall Arts for Women and Curves for Women.
The March awards were announced at the monthly Bucknell Women's Sports Luncheon, held Thursday, April 3. Sponsored by K.I.C.K.S. Marshall Arts for Women and Curves for Women, the luncheon recognizes one outstanding student-athlete from each Bucknell women's sport in season at that time. The other winners for the month of March, as selected by their respective coaches, were Cody Keffer for women's water polo, Jill Wurzburg for women's tennis, Lauren Wible and Lauren Box for softball, Theresa Dennis for outdoor track and field and Amy Jones for women's golf.
Kallis has started all eight contests the Bison have faced. The goalie has faced 196 shots and protected 92 saves, allowing only 63 enter the net. The senior is ranked fifth among the nation's top goalies with a save percentage of .594.
Bucknell owns a 4-4 overall record and 2-2 in the league. The Bison have won the last three games, defeating Lehigh, Holy Cross, and Mount Saint Mary's. The Herd will travel to Pittsburgh, Pa., to face Duquesne on April 5.
The next Women's Sport Luncheon will be held on Thursday, April 24 at noon.
