Lauren Wible and Lauren Box Named Female Athletes of the Month for March

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell freshman Lauren Wible (Dover, Pa./Dover) and senior Lauren Box (Malvern, Pa./Villa Marie Academy) have received the March Athlete of the Month Award for softball from local co-sponsors K.I.C.K.S. Marshall Arts for Women and Curves for Women.
The March awards were announced at the monthly Bucknell Women's Sports Luncheon, held Thursday, April 3. Sponsored by K.I.C.K.S. Marshall Arts for Women and Curves for Women, the luncheon recognizes one outstanding student-athlete from each Bucknell women's sport in season at that time. The other winners for the month of March, as selected by their respective coaches, were Cody Keffer for women's water polo, Jill Wurzburg for women's tennis, Theresa Dennis for outdoor track and field, Nicole Kallis for women's lacrosse, and Amy Jones for women's golf.
Wible has started in all 23 games for Bucknell. The first basemen works for a .989 fielding percentage and leads the team, along with junior Angie Stackhouse, in doubles (6). Patiently at the plate, Wible has been walked 13 times throughout her 59 at-bats.
Box has pitched 45.1 innings for the Bison. She has made 12 appearances and struck-out 10 batters. The senior has started in eight of the 12 games she has appeared in. Box owns a 0-7 record.
Bucknell softball owns a 4-19 overall record and 1-2 in the Patriot League. The Bison are scheduled to host PL foe Lafayette for a four-game series on April 5-6.
The next Women's Sport Luncheon will be held on Thursday, April 24 at noon.
