LEWISBURG, Pa. - Over the course of the 2003 softball season, there have been several schedule changes due to rain and snow. The weather has effected yet another part of the Bison schedule, forcing two games with Army this weekend to be played a day earlier. In addition, the Orange and Blue will be playing a makeup game with Holy Cross over the weekend.
Bucknell was originally scheduled to play Army on Saturday and Sunday, April 26-27. Due to an impending rain storm, expected to wash out the entire day Saturday, the Bison will now be traveling to the Black Knights on Friday, April 25, to play a doubleheader beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The Army games will be broadcast live on the internet (www.BucknellBison.com) and in Lewisburg on the Bison Sports Network, WMLP-1380AM. Doug Birdsong, the Voice of the Bison, will broadcast the contest, beginning with the first game already in progress at 6:02 p.m.
As soon as the squads are done with their games, BU will take on Holy Cross in a rescheduled game from March 30. The Orange and Blue and the Crusaders will be squaring off for a single game under the lights at Army's Softball Complex, with the game scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m.
Bucknell is currently 10-29 overall and 5-10 in Patriot League play. The Bison took on Lafayette earlier this afternoon, defeating the Leopards 3-0 in the opener and 3-1 in the nightcap.
