Bison Sports Network to Air Nine Spring Sporting Events

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Nine Bucknell sporting events will air on the Bison Sports Network this spring, beginning with the Bucknell-Michigan State women's water polo match on March 21, Bucknell radio and television coordinator Doug Birdsong announced Thursday.
All nine competitions can be heard on WMLP 1380-AM in Lewisburg, as well as on the internet at www.BucknellBison.com. Birdsong will call the play-by-play on all the games, beginning with a pre-game show 15 minutes prior to the start of the contest.
Four of the nine events will feature the Bison lacrosse teams. The men's team's critical Patriot League encounters with Hobart and Army will both be aired, as the 19th-ranked Bison seek their fourth straight conference title. The women's team, under first-year head coach Randall Flynn, hit the airwaves for their Patriot League contests with Lafayette and Holy Cross.
Service academy rivalries are the theme for Bucknell's diamond encounters on the spring radio package. The baseball team's doubleheaders with Navy and Army will both air, as will the softball team's twin bill with the Black Knights.
The women's water polo matchup with Michigan State takes on an historic flavor, as it will be Bucknell's very first water polo competition played in the brand new Kinney Natatorium.
Finally, the April 18 Blue vs. Orange spring football game will be broadcast live from Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium, as the Bison gridders conclude their first spring camp under new head coach Tim Landis.
