Bucknell Women's Crew Competes at Philadelphia Frostbite

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Bucknell women's crew participated in the Philadelphia Frostbite this afternoon, Saturday, November 8. The Bison sent four boats to the water in the 2,000 meter race that took place on the Schuylkill River.
In the first race, the Bucknell "A" boat came in five out of six crews in a time of 6:47.68. That boat consisted of coxswain Megan Garret, and rowers Tabitha Smith, Kathryn Wood, Jessica Noonan, Heather Northrop, Mee Kyung Lim, Marianne Prabhu, Caitlin Feigenbaum and Danielle Monteverde.
Bucknell's "B" boat, raced by coxswain Mary Kellam, Caitlin Cleveland, Laura Wilkinson, Jenna Goldstein, Megan Chapin, Meghan Mulcrone, Rachel Goldstein, Laura Roberts and Meredith Henry, came in sixth in a six boat race in a time of 6:53.45.
The crew of Amanda Hart, Stevie Eveland, Christine Drasba, Ashley Shamansky, Erin Ashenfelter, Susan Shadle, Ashley Kalinske and Priscilla Enner, and coxswain Julia Keyser turned in a fourth place finish out of five boats in a time of 7:56.07.
In a three boat race, Emily Johnson, Merete Nelson, Sarah Jensen, Emma Skivington, Sarah Brown, Patricia Hohl, Kimberly Kelly, Lisa Kirsch and coxswain Kim Salamone crossed the finish line in a time of 7:44.40, good enough for second place.
The Philadelphia Frostbite was the final event of the fall for the Bison crew. The team will get back in the water in March, when they travel to Elberton, Ga., for a race against Skidmore College on March 19, 2004.
