Bison Volleyball Now 7-1 in Patriot League after 3-2 Win at Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. - Jessica Bissett hit .550 and recorded three of her four services aces in the fifth and deciding game as the Bucknell volleyball team improved to 7-1 in the Patriot League with a 3-2 victory over Holy Cross Friday night at the Hart Center.
Bissett put down 11 kills without an error in 20 swings, but it was her strong serve that helped Bucknell race to a 10-1 lead in game five after the Bison let a two-game lead slip away.
After winning the first two games 30-24 and 30-25, Bucknell (11-9 overall) dropped the next two 30-22 and 30-28. The five-game win was Bucknell's second in three league matches on the road, as the Bison remain 1.5 games behind 9-0 American in the Patriot League standings.
Defensively, Brandi Trapasso recorded 29 of Bucknell's 121 digs. That leaves her just 12 shy of Susie Teitsworth's Bucknell and Patriot League record of 1,474. Trapasso added 12 kills, while twin sister Breean Trapasso dished 42 assists and dug 24 balls.
Chelsea Anderson finished with 27 digs for the Bison, while Jackie Leahy led the squad with 17 kills. Jennie Smith led all players with six blocks.
Caitlin Agostinacchio led Holy Cross (5-16, 2-6) with 17 kills.
Holy Cross outhit Bucknell .150 to .135 in the match. Bucknell swept the season series from the Crusaders.
Bucknell returns to action on Saturday night at Army. Game time is 7 p.m. at West Point's Gillis Field House.
