Bucknell Women's Tennis Team Picked Fourth in Preseason Patriot League Poll

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell tallied 23 points to finish fourth in a preseason poll of Patriot League coaches' and sports information directors' for the 2003 women's tennis season. The Bison finished the 2002 season with a 9-9 overall record and a mark of 1-4 in the Patriot League.
American, which garnered eight first-place votes, was selected to win the annual Patriot League women's tennis championship with 48 points. Army finished second with the remaining four first-place votes and 43 points. Colgate earned third place with 33 points. Bucknell (23 points) edged out Lehigh (21 points) for the fourth position and Lafayette (12 points) rounded out the poll.
The 2003 Patriot League Championship will be played April 26-27 at the highest seed.
