
Bucknell Men's Tennis Wins 5-2 at Lehigh in Patriot League Play

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Bucknell men's tennis team picked up a 5-2 win at Lehigh in its final Patriot League competition of the season on Tuesday, April 23. The Bison dropped two of three doubles matches to lose the doubles point, but came back to claim five of six singles bouts for the win.
Freshmen Gerald DiChiara and Leland Tien were Bucknell's lone winners in doubles play, teaming up at No. 3 to defeat Trey Fuller and Jeff Samuels, 8-3.
In singles play, freshman Nick Denefrio got the winning started with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Ryan Cann at No. 2. Classmates Tien and DiChiara continued with victories at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. Tien defeated Matt Dankner in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6 (1), while DiChiara picked up a 7-6 (3), 6-3 win over Craig Ditman. Junior Todd Jacobs was victorious at No. 5 in 6-2, 6-3 fashion over Fuller, and senior Scott Allen rounded out the Bucknell scoring with a 6-2, 6-1 decision over Samuels at No. 6.
Bucknell improves to 14-6 overall and 2-3 in Patriot League play. The Orange and Blue, out of playoff contention, have a postponed match with Delaware to make up later in the week.
