VILLANOVA, Pa. - Senior Brooke Rea tied the Bucknell single-game record with a career-best six goals, but it was not enough as the Bison women's water polo team fell to host Villanova, 10-8, at the Villanova Invitational on Saturday, March 23.
The Orange and Blue fell behind by one, 3-2, after the first quarter, but fought back to tie the game at 6-6 at the intermission. Both teams tallied twice in the third before the Wildcats outscored BU 2-0 in the final frame to come away with the 10-8 victory.
In addition to her six scores, Rea added one assist for a season-high seven points in the game. Sophomore Kelly Hofstetter was the only other Bison player to find the back of the net, scoring twice. Junior goalkeeper Lindsay Chesterfield made five saves in the contest.
