Bison Volleyball Breaks Four-Game Winning Streak

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Bucknell Volleyball team broke their four-game winning streak, Sunday afternoon, after they fell to Division II Le Moyne, 3-1. Brandi Trapasso led the Bison with 12 kills and 29 digs.
The game featured a match-up of the three Trapasso sisters. Bucknell received team-high 12 kills and 29 digs from Brandi Trapasso and a team-high 34 assists from Breean Trapasso. Le Moyne senior setter Britni Trapasso recorded 38 assists and 10 digs for the Dolphins.
In the opening game, Le Moyne jumped out to an early 6-1 lead and never looked back en route to a 30-14 victory. During the second game, the Bison used a 10-2 run to jump above the Dolphins, after a 17-17 tie, to take the biggest lead of the match at 27-19. Le Moyne battled back for 10 of the next 11 points to regain the lead, 29-28. The Bison fell in the second game, 32-30.
The Bison regained intensity after the intermission and came back to the court to produce a 30-22 win over the Dolphins. To close the match, Le Moyne grabbed 10 of the final 16 points to win the game four, 30-26.
Melanie Ghiz assisted the Bison offense with 11 kills. Chelsea Anderson tallied 19 digs and Jennifer Wrigley marked 18 for Bucknell.
The Bison now hold an 11-9 overall record and hold a 5-2 record in the Patriot League. Bucknell will host Patriot League opponents Lafayette on Friday, Oct. 25 at 7:00 p.m. and Lehigh on Saturday, Oct. 26.
