LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell senior Shannon Walker has received the Subway Athlete of the Month Award for the month of September in volleyball.
The award was announced at the monthly Bucknell Women's Sports Luncheon, held Monday, Sept. 10. The other winners for the month of September, as selected by their respective coaches, were senior Erin Plasteras in field hockey, senior Kristin Ferrell in cross country, junior Jess Hetrich in golf and sophomore Savannah Rennels in soccer.
Walker, a 5-11 outside hitter, has led the Bison to a 3-3 start after competing in tournaments at Marist and Virginia Commonwealth over the past two weekends. She was named to the All-Tournament team at VCU after posting 37 kills, nine blocks and a .294 hitting percentage over three matches. Walker currently leads Bucknell with 3.96 kills per game.
