Bucknell Track At Penn Relays Is A Success

Philadelphia, Pa. - The Bucknell men's and women's track and field team had numerous individuals take part in the famous Penn Relays this past weekend. The most notable performance was recorded by the women's 4x800-meter relay foursome of senior Laura Ryan (Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickon), and juniors Kelly McConnell (Danville, Pa./Danville), Latonya McSwain (Cleveland, Ohio/Hawken), and Stephanie Bango (Smethport, Pa./Smethport).
These four individuals ran in the College Women's 4x800-meter Championship of America race and came in 12th place. The team finished behind college powerhouses like Florida, UCLA, and Wake Forest with a strong time of 9:05.06. This time puts this relay foursome fourth all-time on the Bucknell performance charts.
There were other strong performances were recorded by the BU track squad, but the women's 4x800 relay team was the only one to break the Bucknell charts. The track team will now begin preparation for the Patriot League Outdoor Track & Field Championships being held at Holy Cross on May 4-5.
