Men's Track & Field Chosen To Finish Second In Line To Army

Bethlehem, Pa. --- The Bucknell men's track & Field was chosen to finish in second place in the Patriot League men's track & field pre-season poll. Bucknell, received 42 points and two first-place votes in the coaches' and sports information director's poll.
Army, which garnered 10 of the 12 first-place votes, was chosen to win the title in the annual pre-season poll. The defending Patriot League champion, Army, looks strong as 11 all-league performers return in 2001 to go for an unprecedented tenth title. The Orange and Blue have been stuck with the runner-up position seven times since winning the inaugural championship in 1991. The Bison return four All-League competitors in senior James Hollins (Feeding Hills, Mass./Northfield-Mt. Hermon), junior PJ Ward (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood), and sophomores Eric Furst (Goshen, N.Y./Goshen) and Greg Costello (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon). Lehigh rounds out the top three by receiving 33 points in the pre-season poll.
The four, five, and six slots in the poll are occupied by Colgate with 24 points, Lafayette with 21, and Holy Cross in last with 10 points.
