Women's Basketball Player Vicki Quimby Named Regional Player of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell junior guard Vicki Quimby (Wilson, Pa./West Lawn) was named the Eastern College Women's Basketball Coaches & Media Association Regional Player of the Week for the Central New York/Pennsylvania region. The recognition was given for the games from January 29 through February 4.
Quimby averaged 20.5 points per game in a 2-0 week for the Bison as she recorded her sixth double double of the season, and 25th of her career, with a 17 point, 14 rebound effort in a victory over Stony Brook. She shot 60.0% from the floor in the game and had an all around game against the Seawolves, handing out a career-high six assists and grabbing a season-best six steals. Quimby responded with a 24 point effort on 11-of-15 shooting from the floor against Navy in just 24 minutes of action, scoring 13 of Bucknell's first 26 points of the game. She had a career-high two blocks in the contest and picked off three steals. For the week, she averaged 3.0 assists per game and 4.5 steals per contest.
Quimby is leading the team with 7.8 rebounds per game.
The Bison are 17-5 overall and 7-1 in Patriot League action. Bucknell travels to Holy Cross for a 1:00 p.m. contest on Saturday, February 10.
