Bison Women's Hoops Player Vicki Quimby Named Patriot League Player of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell junior forward Vicki Quimby (Wilson, Pa./West Lawn) has picked up Patriot League Player of the Week honors for the week ending February 18, 2001.
Quimby averaged a double double in a 2-0 week for the Bison while nursing a sprained ankle suffered early in the week. She averaged 19.5 points per game and 11.5 rebounds per outing. In a 92-77 victory at Army (2/14/01), Quimby recorded her seventh game of the season with over 20 points, scoring 22 on 8-16 shooting from the floor and a perfect 6-6 from the foul line. The 6-0 forward also pulled down 11 rebounds in the game and has never played in Christl Arena without recording a double double. She is now averaging 20.0 ppg and 11.8 rpg in four trips to Army in her career. In an 88-60 win over Colgate (2/17/01), Quimby turned in her third consecutive double double, ninth of the season, and 28th of her career, with a 17 point, 12 rebound effort.
Quimby is third on the team and fourth in the Patriot League with 15.6 ppg on the season and is also Bucknell's leader in rebounds with 8.2 rpg. With 672 career rebounds, Quimby is in ninth place on Bucknell's all-time career rebound list and 10th on the Patriot League's all-time career carom list.
The Bison are 19-6 overall, setting a new school record for wins in a season, and 9-2 in Patriot League play. Bucknell concludes the regular season hosting Lehigh on Wednesday, February 21, before traveling to Albany on Saturday, February 24.
