Bucknell Wrestling Team Picks Up Win Over Boston College

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Bucknell wrestling team picked up a 31-12 non-conference victory over Boston College on Saturday, January 20. The match was held at Brown University.
In a match that started at the 174-pound weight class, junior Ben Chunko (Hellertown, Pa./Saucon Valley) got things started with a fall in :56 to put the Bison on top early, 6-0. Bucknell went on to take the next four matches in building its advantage to 25-0 over the Eagles. Junior co-captain Brian Neuman (Eighty Four, Pa./Canon-McMillian) won by a 9-7 decision at 184, junior Brian Falciglia (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) picked up a 13-1 major decision at 197 pounds, and sophomores Carl Perrone (Flanders, N.J./Roxbury) and Josh Perrin (Boswell, Pa./Somerset) both earned forfeits at heavyweight and 125, respectively.
After a decision by Boston College at 133 pounds, sophomore Brandn Green (Port Matilda, Pa./State College) won a close match, 7-6, at the 141 pound weight class to extend the Orange and Blue advantage to 28-3. Sophomore Mike Saunders (Port Matilda, Pa./State College) was Bucknell's final winner on the day, picking up a 6-4 decision at 157 pounds.
The Bison improve to 5-3 with the win and take on Springfield College later in the day.
