COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL: BU Invitational All-Tournament Team Announced
Lewisburg, Pa. --- The All-Tournament team for the Bucknell Volleyball Invitational has been selected and Manhattan, tournament victors, were represented by two on the team. Junior Kim Frederick and sophomore Bridgett Geddes were selected by their opponents coaches to the All-Tournament team. Geddes finished the tourney with 32 kills on 109 attempts to go along with 40 set assists. Her teammate, Frederick, had a fine tournament with 48 kills on 118 attempts for a .288 hitting percentage.
Representing the second prize team was middle blocker Shelley Sprouse from Virginia Commonwealth. Sprouse, a senior on the Rams' squad, completed the tournament with an excellent hitting percentage of .347 and complimented that mark with 17 total blocks.
Senior middle blocker, Cynthia Orengo, was the lone All-Tournament selection from Stony Brook. Orengo, a force in the middle, finished the tourney with 19 solo blocks and 7 block assists for a strong total of 26 in four matches. Representing the host team from Bucknell was freshman outside hitter Brandi Trapasso (N. Tonawanda, N.Y./North Tonawanda). Trapasso shined on her home court by striking some important kills in matches and accumulating 56 digs for the tournament. Dennis led the Red Flash with 16 blocks over the course of 14 games.
