Loyola Controls The Net And Defeat Bison 3-1

COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL: Loyola 3, BUCKNELL 1
Baltimore, Md. --- The Bucknell women's volleyball team was defeated this evening by a strong Loyola team, 3-1 (15-11, 12-15, 15-6, and 15-4). Leading the way for the Greyhounds was Mary Hamsher with 17 kills in the four-game set.
Bucknell saw its only win come in the second game of the match, 15-12. The Orange and Blue had three consistent performances from senior Brooke Bader (Elyria, Ohio/Elyria), junior Shannon Walker (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield) and sophomore Jen Wrigley (Benicia, Calif./Benicia). Bader, Walker, and Wrigley combined for 35 kills and 26 digs in the match. With the defeat, the Bison fall to 2-10 on the season, however, have yet to play any conference matches.
The Bison will be eager for redemption this coming weekend when they host the Subway Classic. The volleyball team will play first on Friday, September 22 against Marist at 6:00 p.m. The following day the Orange and Blue will have contests against Canisius at 1:00 p.m. and Villanova at 4:00 p.m.
