Walker Wins Subway Athlete of the Month Award for October

The award was announced at the monthly Bucknell Women's Sports Luncheon, held Monday, November 6. Sponsored by Lewisburg Subway, the luncheon recognizes one outstanding student-athlete from each Bucknell women's sport in season at that time. Other winners for the month of October, as selected by the respective coaches, included junior Becki Marshall in cross country, junior Hilary Mainka in golf, junior Abby Weaver in swimming, sophomore Karla Killian in soccer, and senior Brett Russo in field hockey.
Walker is a middle hitter on the volleyball team has been a solid performer for the Bison during the month of October. The Orange and Blue went 8-2 during October and Walker had a major part in the team's success. Twice during the month she garnered Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week honors for her superb hitting. She is currently ranked first in the Patriot League with a 3.48 kills per game average.
The volleyball team is currently 14-14 overall and 9-2 in the conference action this season. The Bison will play their last match of the season on Saturday, November 11 at home versus league foe Colgate for the right to be the number one seed in the Patriot League.
