Women's Basketball Player Desire Almind Picks Up Second-Straight Patriot League Rookie of the Week Honor

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell freshman guard/forward Desire Almind (Blairstown, N.J./North Warren Regional) has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week for the second-straight week. Almind garnered her second honor for the week ending November 26, 2000.
During that time, Almind averaged 21.5 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per contest. In just her second game in the Orange and Blue, Almind scored a game-high 25 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for the first double-double of her career as Bucknell defeated Hampton, 80-71, on Monday, November 20.
Against Maryland-Eastern Shore on Wednesday, November 22, Almind tallied 18 points to complete her third-straight game in double-figures scoring. She also grabbed six rebounds and handed out three assists in the 91-62 victory for Bucknell.
On the season, Almind leads Bucknell and the Patriot League in scoring with 21.3 ppg. Her 7.3 caroms per outing is sixth among league players.
The Bison are 3-0 and look to improve on their record with a 7:00 p.m. game at Marist on Tuesday, November 28.
