Walker Named Patriot League Offensive Player Of The Week For 10/2-9

Lewisburg, Pa. --- Junior middle hitter, Shannon Walker (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield) was named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts against Patriot League opponents Colgate, Army, and Holy Cross.
Early in the week, the Bison traveled to Hamilton, N.Y. to play against pre-season favorite, Colgate. Walker started to week off well in this match by recording 15 kills on 30 attempts for a .231 hitting percentage. The Bison would go on to defeat the Red Raiders 3-1 and improve to 2-0 in conference action. From here Walker continued with her solid hitting display by having a near perfect night at Army. In the 3-2 victory, Walker recorded 21 kills on 36 attempts with only three errors for a spectacular hitting percentage of .500. The very next night against Holy Cross, Walker led the Orange and Blue again in hitting with 23 kills on 48 attempts for a hitting percentage of .292. Behind the hitting of Walker, the Bucknell volleyball team improved to 4-0 in the Patriot League and now has sole position of first place in the conference.
Walker will help lead the Bison to victory later this evening when they play at Central Connecticut at 7:00 p.m. The volleyball team will return to conference action when it hosts Lehigh on Thursday, October 12 at 7:30 p.m.
