Wrigley Named Patriot League Defensive Player Of The Week for 10/2-9

Lewisburg, Pa. --- Sophomore outside hitter, Jennifer Wrigley (Benicia, Calif./Benicia) was named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts against Patriot League opponents Colgate, Army, and Holy Cross.
In three matches during the week, Wrigley led the Bison in defensive digs in two out of the three contests. Early in the week, the Bison traveled to Hamilton, N.Y. to play against pre-season favorite, Colgate. In the 3-1 victory, Wrigley recorded her first double-double of the season with 14 kills and 20 defensive digs. This contest would be the first of three Patriot League victories for the Orange and Blue during the week. In the next two contests at Army and Holy Cross, Wrigley recorded a total of 37 defensive digs, which included 28 at Holy Cross, tying her career high for digs in a game. The Orange and Blue defeated Army and Holy Cross 3-2 in both contests. Over the course of the week, Wrigley averaged 4.07 digs per game and aided the Bison offense with 2.93 kills per game. The Bucknell volleyball team improved to 4-0 in the Patriot League and now own the rights to first place in the conference.
Wrigley will help lead the Bison to victory later this evening when they play at Central Connecticut at 7:00 p.m. The volleyball team will return to conference action when it hosts Lehigh on Thursday, October 12 at 7:30 p.m.
