One of the best water polo players in school history, Scott Schulte was a four-time All-East selection and twice a member of the All-America squad. Schulte was the high scorer in the NCAA Water Polo Tournament for four straight years and became the NCAA career scoring leader with 586 goals. Fifty of those goals came in NCAA Tournament competition. Schulte played on Bucknell teams that had a combined record of 114-15-3, and he was a Second Team All-American in 1979 and 1980. He was the only player outside of California selected to either of those two squads. Schulte also competed with the Bison swimming team and finished in the top six of an East Coast Conference Championship event seven times. He was a member of the U.S. National Water Polo Team from 1980-84 and was MVP of the Indoor National Championships in 1981 and 1984. In 1981 he competed at the World University Games. Bucknell's annual water polo MVP award is named in his honor.Â
