Marty McKibbin was an end on the undefeated (9-0) 1951 Bucknell football team, co-captain of the 1952 baseball team and a three-year starter in football, basketball and baseball. He was believed by his football coach, Harry Lawrence, to be the first "wide receiver" in the college ranks. McKibbin set what was at the time a school career record of 51 pass receptions, on which he gained 673 yards and scored eight touchdowns. McKibbin was also selected to the NCAA All-District Two baseball team at first base in 1952, and he had an 8.0 career scoring average in basketball. In the latter sport, his 36-point performance against Dickinson in 1952 was the second-highest in school history at the time. A graduate of Demarest (N.J.) High School, McKibbin played professional baseball with Williamsport of the Eastern League. He went on to teach for 46 years at the McDonough School in Baltimore.
