Marjorie Deck was one of Bucknell's finest women athletes of the early 1970s, excelling in field hockey, basketball and tennis. Co-captain of the field hockey and basketball teams as a senior, she was selected to the Susquehanna Field Hockey Association First Team and participated in the Mid-East Tournament in that sport. She was, perhaps, most outstanding in tennis and was undefeated in dual matches throughout her four-year career. As a senior, she ranked first in Pennsylvania and fifth in the East, and was recognized for her tennis accomplishments by being selected to appear in Sports Illustrated's "Faces in the Crowd." Deck was a graduate of Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School in Maryland.
