Lectie Altman helped lead the Bison women's swimming and diving team to the Patriot League championship in each of her four collegiate seasons. She captured at least one Patriot League gold medal each year, claiming the 200-yard freestyle and 800 freestyle relay titles as a freshman; the 200 backstroke and 800 free relay titles as a sophomore; the 100 and 200 backstroke and 200 and 400 medley relay titles as a junior; and the 200 back championship as a senior. She also collected five silver medals and four bronze medals in addition to her nine golds in PL competition.Â
Altman was undefeated in the 200 back as a senior, and she received the Patriot League's High Point Award as the top career scorer in the Class of 2006 (208 points). She competed at the Conoco Phillips USA Swimming National Championships in Irvine, Calif., the summer between her junior and senior seasons.
The winner of the Christy Mathewson Award as the top athlete in her class, Altman graduated with school records in three individual events (100 back, 200 back, 200 free) and two relays (200 medley, 400 medley). A native of Syracuse, Altman moved to Hawai'i after graduation and became a competitive triathlete.Â
