Bucknell Athletics Hall of Fame

Justin W. Zackey
- Induction:
- 2005
- Class:
- 1994
One of Sid Jamieson's all-time great players was Justin Zackey, who still holds the Bucknell records for goals in a season (63) and career (138) and points in a season (79 in 1993). A two-time Honorable Mention All-American who led the nation in goals per game (4.20) in 1993, Zackey was a First Team All-Patriot League pick in 1993 and 1994 and was a two-time Academic All-American (third team in 1993 and first team in 1994). He is the only player in school history to have two seven-goal games. A biology and geography double major, he earned a prestigious Luce Foundation Scholarship and studied ethnic issues in China during a year-long project. During his undergraduate days he served as a teaching assistant for summer geography courses in Eastern Europe and West Africa, and he also studied in London for one semester. Zackey, who is the seventh Bison lacrosse player to be enshrined in the Hall, was a 1994 winner of the Christy Mathewson Award, the first from his sport to be so honored.Â
