One of the founding members of varsity lacrosse at Bucknell, Jim McKee was a dominant player on the first two lacrosse teams fielded by the university. McKee led the team in scoring his junior year, and following his senior campaign was honored as a Second Team College Division All-American and an All-Middle Atlantic Conference First Team pick after leading the Bison to the conference title. McKee scored 49 goals during his two-year career, a Bison record when he graduated, and led Bucknell to wins in 16 of 20 games. Sid Jamieson, the initial Bison lacrosse head coach, described McKee as an unselfish, competitive, team-oriented player, who could control a game on his own if the team needed him to. An avid supporter of the Bison lax program long after graduation, the Timonium, Md., native became president of McKee and Associates, Inc., a land development company in Cockeysville, Md.
