The Most Valuable Player in the Middle Atlantic Conference and a Little All-America Honorable Mention quarterback in 1962, Ron Giordano set 11 school passing and total offense records that season. A fourth-stringer at the beginning of his junior year, Giordano played on teams coached by Hall of Famer Bob Odell that had a combined 19-8 record. His season records included 119 completions in 211 attempts for 1,461 yards and 14 touchdowns. The latter two marks stood for 20 years. In addition to being named to the Associated Press Little All-America and All-MAC teams, Giordano was selected to the Williamson All-America team, received honorable mention on the UPI All-America and AP All-East teams. He was named to the ECAC All-East Team and was on the All-Pennsylvania Second Team. A graduate of Collingswood (N.J.) High School, Giordano played in the Gem City and All-American bowl games following his senior season.Â
