Bucknell Athletics Hall of Fame

- Induction:

- Class:
- 2001
Ian Joseph was a three-time All-Patriot League outfielder, a switch-hitter who graduated with Bucknell career marks in games played (192), starts (189), stolen bases (99), at-bats (683), runs scored (162), walks (99), singles (166), and he tied the career mark for assists by an outfielder with 15. With the exception of the at-bats and singles records, all of those marks still held up at the time of his Hall of Fame induction in 2013. Joseph owned the career stolen base mark by more than 40 over the second highest ranking player in Bison history.
A graduate of West Geauga High School in Ohio, Joseph helped lead the Bison to the 2001 Patriot League championship and the program's second-ever trip to NCAA Regionals. That season he led the league with 45 runs scored.Â
The Bison won 109 games during his four-year career, including a school-record 31 in both his freshman and senior seasons. Joseph was one of only two freshmen to make the All-Patriot League Team in 1998.Â
In addition to his prowess on the diamond, Joseph was the assistant director and coordinator of men's activities for the intramural program, and he worked as a statistician and camera operator for the Bison Sports Network while majoring in civil engineering. He went on to earn his MBA from Penn State before starting a successful career in the banking industry.Â
