Hunter Adams was a dominant defensive lineman on the gridiron, and he was one of the key players on Bison teams that captured a Patriot League championship in 1996 and finished 10-1 in 1997. Adams was a three-time All-Patriot League selection at defensive end, capturing First Team citations in 1996 and 1997. He was later named to the Patriot League All-Anniversary Team in 2000 and the 25th Anniversary Team in 2011.

A Caldwell, N.J., native, Adams entered college at 225 pounds, and by the start of his senior year he was a 6'5", 278-pound force. He graduated with 188 career tackles, 17 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks, and he was part of Tom Gadd’s vaunted defensive units that ranked No. 1 in the league in each of Adams’ final three seasons. A team co-captain as a senior, Adams was a two-time recipient of the George Rieu Award as Bucknell’s outstanding defensive lineman. After graduation, Adams signed a free-agent contract with the New York Giants and was later added to the team’s practice squad. He then played in the Arena Football League with Houston, Raleigh, New Jersey and Las Vegas.
